In fact n the last 15 years or so, other than net totally failing, corrupt downloads or unfinished ones have been almost non existant. My speeds are great in Galaxy, perfectly in normal range for my connection. Even if one wants a "classic" non Galaxy installer, I would still recommend using Galaxy to get it via backups and goodies. On Galaxy though, I rarley get issues downloading and it does a very good job of picking up where it left off if the connection drops. using a download manager like DownThemAll on FireFox. I also find Galaxy to be a lot more reliable than using the browser. Downloading in Browser compared to Galaxy is exact the same duration for me so browsers having faster download speeds aint an universal occurence. And for me the displayed speeds are also the real speedcounts (duration of the download fits the displayed speed). Now, you have installed your game/s quicker, but still have them in Galaxy! Browse to where you just installed to the game to, and import it. You notice that it has finished faster than it would do through Galaxy! Now, open Galaxy and click the big round button that says 'GOG com', and choose 'scan and import folders'. Do that, and once done, run the setup file. So go to gog.com/account in your browser and now you should see all of your games. I should have 350 KB/s, and Galaxy shows that, but doesn't actually get that speed. Now, for some reason, Galaxy shows I'm getting the right download speed, but doesn't actually download that quick. there is a way to fix it!įirstly, you need to know that the downloads won't be done through Galaxy, but instead through your favourite (or fastest) internet browser. So, if you are reading this, its because you are getting slow downloads through GOG Galaxy.
